Here’s the thing, though, it’s not always so complicated. Sometimes you want the “meat and potatoes” of sexual experiences. Things that are simple, straightforward, and satisfying. Sometimes you just want some good old-fashioned super deep boning and that’s okay! Heck, these days we even have thrusting toys to deliver the sensation in solo play!
Today we’re going to look at some of the absolute best sex positions for when you want to go super deep! Child's Pose
If you’ve ever taken a yoga class, you are probably familiar with Child’s Pose. It’s the resting posture that yoga teachers often suggest when you need a break or the current pose isn’t working for you. But you know what else Child’s Pose is awesome for? Deep penetration regardless of penis or strap-on size! Seriously, because you are basically making yourself into a little ball, penetration will feel super deep.
How It works: Start off on your hands and knees with your legs together and then bend your knees so your chest comes closer to your thighs. You can even wrap your arms behind your knees and pull yourself into even more of a little ball shape. What you are doing is making your vagina or anus as shallow as possible here. This will make absolutely any phallus feel bigger and like it is going deeper. Then your partner kneels (or stands if you are at the edge of the bed) behind you with their legs wide apart and enters, gripping your hips as they thrust.
The Flatiron
The Flatiron is one of my all-time favorites and not just because I’m lazy. That said, it is one of the best best sex positions for those “you are really hot, and I really want to have sex with you, but I’m so tired, can you do all the work?” days, which we all totally, 100% definitely have… right?
How It works: Lie down on your belly with pillows or a sex positioning cushion under your hips and your legs together. Basically, you should feel like you are lying flat on your stomach with your butt raised into the air. Your partner will then straddle you on their knees and lean forward to penetrate you. The angle of entry here can be adjusted based on where your partner sets up their knees or angles their chest - play with that! They can adjust the angle of entry by changing their knee placement and adjust the intensity by leaning forward over you or leaning back and delivering powerful thrusts. If you want to take a more active role, have your partner stay upright so you can reach back and grab their hands. This will allow them to use your hands to get extra deep thrusting leverage.
Happy Baby Pose
Another one straight out of yoga class! Never mind the not sex name (and alternate name for this pose is “dead bug” which is somehow even less sexy) and focus on how this sexual position opens the body up for maximum penetration!
How it works: Lie on your back with your tailbone on the floor. Bend your knees and take hold of the outside edges of your feet, one in each hand. Keeping your knees bent and the soles of your feet facing the ceiling, open your legs wide and draw the knees toward the floor on either side of your body. From here your partner can kneel in front of you and penetrate you deeply. To maintain the deep penetration position, you can continue to hold your feet in place or use a strap that will hold them there for you.
Legs On Shoulders
So, the name of this one might seem pretty self-explanatory, but there’s a fun twist here that allows super deep penetrative sex. That said, it also requires a certain amount of flexibility, so be forewarned (and maybe stretch beforehand?). Also, folks with lower back pain may want to skip this one as it asks a lot of your spine.
How it works: Lie on your back and raise your legs, so your feet point up to the ceiling. Your partner then kneels in front of you and gets in close enough that your legs can rest on your partner’s shoulders. Once everyone is in position, your partner then leans forward, causing your legs to come back towards your chest and your hips to lift, making for super deep penetration.
If your legs aren’t comfortable in full extension, or if you just want to mix it up a bit, place the soles of your feet on your partner’s chest instead of extending the legs. It will still allow deeper penetration and your legs won’t have to stretch so far.
Extended Cowpoke
We’re all familiar with the Cowpoke position; It’s when the person being penetrated is on top, riding their partner. It’s a great sex position in its own right but if you want to take it from “super fun” to “super deep fun” it just takes one little tweak.
How it works: Have your partner lie on their back. Come to straddle them but instead of settling onto your knees, keep your feet planted on either side of them while you mount them. Once everything is in place, gently extend one leg, then the other straight out in front of you so you end up with your feet on either side of your partner’s head. Having your legs out straight will make for a deep sensation of penetration, and any movements you make from this sexual position will feel seriously intense.
The Pearly Gates
This one sounds complicated but, trust us, it can be extremely worthwhile! It basically takes Extended Cowpoke, turns it around, and ratchets up the intensity.
How it works: Have your partner lie down. Then, climb on top of them and straddle them facing their feet like you would for Reverse Cowpoke. Now, here’s the tricky part, instead of resting on your knees, you actually want to extend your legs out in front of you with your knees slightly bent and your feet on the bed and lean all the way back to recline on your partner’s body. Plant both your hands and your feet for stability. Once you’re there you can experiment with sliding and gliding back and forth or up and down. Alternately your partner can hold you in place and thrust up into you. Additionally, you can squeeze your thighs together for increased sensation that you will both feel!
The Resting Wheelbarrow
The Wheelbarrow Position is a popular one but also often turns up in those “that time I had to go to the hospital due to a sex mishap” stories. Thankfully, this variation lets you reap all the benefits of Wheelbarrow without risking the possible injuries.
How it works: To get into the Resting Wheelbarrow, stand at the edge of the bed with your feet wide apart and bend forward, so your chest is resting on the bed. If the bed is low, I recommend using pillows or cushions under your chest to keep your upper body in line with your hips. Your partner will then position themself so they are standing between your legs so they can enter you from behind. Now, here’s where the magic starts: While your partner firmly grasps your thighs, let all of your weight rest on the bed so you can lift your legs up, possibly even wrapping them around your partner’s waist. Your partner continues holding onto your legs as they thrust. This allows deeper penetration and you end up feeling a bit like you’re flying.
The Love Seat
Couch sex is pretty awesome. I personally don’t think it gets the credit it deserves especially because it can make for some excellent super-deep penetration. Plus, it’s super-easy to do!
How it works: Have your partner sit on a couch (or even a chair), with their tush closer to the front edge of the seat than it would normally be if they were normally hanging out on the couch. Now you climb into their lap, facing them with one knee on either side of their legs. From there you can commence penetration and get to rocking and rolling. You can hold on to the back of the couch or your partner's shoulders for increased leverage and if you want to increase the depth of penetration, you can have your partner come even closer to the edge of the seat.
For another, more high-energy take on couch sex, plant one foot on either side of your partner so you are in a low squat that gives you more deep thrusting power and even more depth.
